Josiah Gouker

MANAGER

Josiah Gouker is a community leader, organizer, and program manager based in Durham, North Carolina. Josiah’s career has spanned classroom education, nonprofit development, political advocacy, policy research, and volunteer management at schools, NGOs, and campaigns around the globe.

From his first job working on policy and debate prep for former HUD Secretary Julián Castro’s presidential campaign to his time at Matriculate, a college access nonprofit, Josiah has been a thoughtful and innovative change-maker across his different roles. He looks forward to lending his skills in knowledge management, fundraising, systems, and operations to work that advances racial justice and progressive social change.

Originally hailing from Joshua Tree, California, Josiah earned his Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies at Princeton University, with certificates in French and Gender & Sexuality Studies. Immediately following graduation, Josiah taught in France as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant.

Outside of work, Josiah enjoys meeting new people, cultivating his LEGO Star Wars collection, playing flight simulators, lifting weights, tinkering with electronics, and spending time with his friends.
