Carolina Nazario
EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT
Like many others, Carolina Nazario's path to advocacy developed right at home. Growing up in an under-resourced Connecticut city, she saw how unequal access to education, resources, and representation could shape a person's future. Witnessing inequity drove her to volunteer and mentor elementary students, developing a passion for service that has continued to drive everything she does.
Carolina graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Sociology, where she channeled her passion into real-world impact through legal practicums, public service projects, and work with organizations including Public Citizen, The Hub Project, and JULIAN, a civil rights organization. Through these roles, she explored how to bridge civic engagement and grassroots outreach to policy advocacy, so that political change can better reflect the needs of communities like hers. Post-graduation, she served at Alianza for Opportunity, where she worked on digital campaigns to translate political decisions that affected Latine communities into more accessible language.
Carolina channeled her passions into a director-level role with Her Rising Initiative, an organization dedicated to closing the opportunity gap for women and girls across the country. There, she led the creation of a curriculum to support a vast network of college chapters for young women interested in politics, business, and leadership. She knew that her work to support women’s political leadership also required addressing structural policy issues that keep women out of these spaces. In response, she launched Her Action. Her Action is a political campaign fighting to end political violence against women and elevate women into positions of power. Through nine state-level campaigns, she engages a vast college network to draft, advocate for, and push for policy that keeps women safe and in political leadership.
